Welcome Message
Welcome to the Grand Opening of the Lupus Center of Excellence at Magee Women's Hospital. Tonight we are celebrating the passion, dedication, and perseverance of many friends of the lupus effort. The Lupus Patient Care and Translational Research Center defines a new multidisciplinary structure for the fight against lupus in which physicians from many specialties and scientists from many disciplines will all come to the patient in one location, with one mission... to accelerate the discovery of a cure. As we work toward a cure, the Lupus Center of Excellence will also provide the best in patient care, the most promising investigational therapies, and an improved quality of life for patients and families affected by the disease.
We thank the University of Pittsburgh School of the Health Sciences, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Magee Women's Hospital for working together to realize our vision. We are poised for great success through these combined efforts of a world-class medical center, a national leader in biomedical science research, and the premier hospital for women's health.
This evening, we celebrate realization of a major milestone but we also celebrate the beginning of a new era of lupus research and patient care. We look forward to your continued support of our mission as we move forward.
