LCE Research
The translational research program at the Lupus Center of Excellence bridges the boundaries between basic and clinical research. Investigators combine patient information with laboratory findings to provide clinical relevance to basic science research. Such an approach has resulted in several novel assays to diagnose and monitor lupus disease activity. Additional studies are aimed at understanding how and why patients with lupus develop premature vascular disease.
